Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Pen, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and Google account details when you sign in
  • Gateway data: Connection URLs, labels, and cryptographic keys for your OpenClaw gateways
  • Usage data: Device information, session metadata, and feature usage patterns
  • Voice data: Voice transcripts are processed in real-time and not stored beyond the active session unless explicitly persisted to your chat history

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To sync your gateways across devices when you opt into cloud sync
  • To provision and manage hosted OpenClaw instances
  • To communicate with you about service updates

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by our infrastructure providers. Gateway cryptographic keys are stored encrypted. Self-hosted gateway users retain full control of their data — we do not have access to self-hosted instances. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

4. Third-Party Services

Pen integrates with third-party services including:

  • Google Sign-In: For authentication — subject to Google's Privacy Policy
  • Infrastructure providers: For hosted gateway deployment
  • AI model providers: For voice processing and text generation — conversation data is sent to these providers during active sessions

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., with infrastructure providers for gateway deployment), to comply with legal obligations, or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Chat history and session data on self-hosted gateways is controlled entirely by you.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of non-essential data collection

8. Children's Privacy

Pen is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
